THERMEX QST (TMT) TECHNOLOGY-HSE, Germany
THERMEX is a revolutionary technology implemented by leading steel producer around the globe for the manufacturer of high quality TMT bars. It produces steel of high quality TMT bars.lt produces steel of high strength, ductility, weld ability, bonding and bendability, with additional advantage of being anti-corrosive earthquake and heat resistant. These properties make TMT bars manufactured through the THERMEX process, the ideal and ultimate choice of both small and large project consul., architects, structural engineers and builders.
QUENCHING PROCESS
The hot rolled bar after leaving the finishing mill stand is fed to quenching box at a very high speed. In this section, a rapid and control!ed water quenching Is performed reducing the temperature of the surface drastically from 950 C to 300 C. (Due to higher speed the outer portion of the bar gets quenched while the inner parts remain hot). This hardens the surface of the bar to a depth, optimized for each section through formation of Martensitic rim while the core remains hot and Austenitic. Then the bar is cut with automatic Flying shear and fed to the cooling bed. This is a patented technology of -Thermex".
SELF TEMPERING
When the bar leaves the quenching box, the core remains hot compared to the surface, allowing heat to flow from the core to the surface, causing tempering of the outer Martensitic layer into surface .1. "Tempered Martensitic•. This core remains Austentic at this stage.
ATMOSPHERIC COOLING
This takes place on the cooling bed where the austentic core is transformed into ductile ferrite pearlite structure. Thus the final structure consists of an optimum combination of a strong outer layer (tempered martensite) with a ductile core(ferrite pearlite). This gives TSI TRICON its unique combination of higher strength and ductility.
RIB PATTERN
TS! TRICON RIB pattern has been geometrically designed to ensure that excellent bonding strength exist between the bar and the surrounding concretes, this gives higher strength to structure & hence longer life.
